Cherry blossoms are very beautiful!! First, I will introduce Kojo-park in Takaoka. Kojo-park is near Takaoka station. You should walk about 20 minutes from Takaoka station to there. Along the street, you can see a lot of cherry blossoms. These are the kinds of cherry blossoms: most are "SOMEIYOSHINO," others are "YAMAZAKURA," "OHSHIMAZAKURA," "KOSHINOHIGANZAKURA," etc. There are 2700 cherry blossoms-- a lot!!!! In April, people enjoy seeing them. Then, they eat lunch and drink something with their friends or family or business people under the cherry blossoms. Of course, I went to Kojo-park with my friends. I think, cherry blossom viewing is very important in Japan. Next, I will introduce "GANDOGAWASAKURANAMIKI" in Fukuoka. I go to Fukuoka Senior High School. So, I can see cherry blossoms from the window in April. They are very beautiful. I am refreshed by seeing it.
I live in Oshima. So, the SHOGAWA (river) is near my house. Every year, in August, Firework Festival is held by the SHOGAWA. Of course, I go to the Fireworks Festival every year. It is very exciting. Fireworks are very loud!! I am surprise by this sound every time. But they are romantic, because fireworks have such a beautiful color. And, many Japanese people put on YUKATA. And hold UCHIWA. The UCHIWA is very important!! If you fan with an UCHIWA, you will feel cool. Next, I will introduce about TANABATA Festival. TANABATA Festival is also held in August. TANABATA is an old Japanese tradition. If you write your wish with TANZAKU and tie it up in the bamboo, it is said that the wish will come true. I believe it. In the Takaoka during the Tanabata Festival, there are many bamboo stalks on the main street. And, there are many small shops where you can eat YAKISOBA, TAKOYAKI, KASUTERA, etc. Also, you can play games.
In September, TSUKURIMON Festival is held in Fukuoka. TSUKURIMON means people make things using vegetables. I have seen it many times. For example, they make models of famous Japanese people, animals, etc. I am very excited every time I see it. Such a festival is held in many areas of Japan. Maybe, Japanese people do this as thanks for the harvest.
In winter, Toyama has much snow. And winter is very cold. I don't like this season. Because, every morning, we must remove the snow in front my house. I makes me tired. But, if I don't it, I can't go out. But the good point is that we can ski. If we go to a ski slope, we can enjoy skiing for a long time.
