富山県立福岡高等学校のWebサイトにようこそ。
本校は、昭和58年4月、地域の熱い期待を担って、本県で唯一の英語コースを有する普通科単独の県立高校として創立されました。以来、「自律・実践・創造」の校訓のもと、国際理解教育と情操教育を柱として、グローバル社会で活躍できる、情操豊かな人間の育成に取り組んでいます。
「英語の学校」の特色ある活動としては、少人数によるティームティーチング授業、英語セミナー、スピーチコンテスト等を継続して実施するとともに、英語に係る資格取得に向けた指導も行っています。また、毎年25名程度の生徒が英国語学研修に参加して、ホームステイをしながら現地の語学学校で学び、英語力・コミュニケーション力を磨きます。
一方で、グローバル・リーダーとなるために必要なのは、語学力や国際社会に向ける広い視野だけでなく、生まれ育ったふるさとに誇りと愛着を持ち、地域の良さを発信する姿勢だと考えています。そのため、本校では、地域の文化芸術活動に参加するなどして地域との交流を深めるとともに、ボランティア活動や異世代交流にも積極的に取り組んでいます。
このWebサイトを通して、「英語コースを核とする進学校」、「地域に信頼される学校」として、未来を切り拓く人材の育成に努めている本校の教育活動や学校生活の一端をご紹介できれば幸いです。今後とも、皆様のご理解とご支援をよろしくお願いします。
Message from the principal
Welcome to Toyama Prefectural Fukuoka Senior High School’s website.
Our school was founded in April 1988 and, accompanied with high expectations from the local community, became the only prefectural senior high school in Toyama that provides an English Course within the general education course curriculum. Since then, under our school motto “Self-Control, Practice, and Creativity,” we have focused on international understanding and emotional development and have been developing students who can play an active role in a global society. Some characteristic activities of our English Course include holding small team-teaching classes, English seminars, and speech contests, as well as providing guidance for acquiring English-related qualifications. Additionally, around 25 students each year participate in an British language training program, where they study at a local language school while living with a homestay family to improve their English and communication skills.
On the other hand, we believe that becoming a global leader requires not only language skills and a broad perspective toward the international community, but also pride and love for one’s hometown and a willingness to share the goodness of one’s local region. For this reason, our school deepens interaction with the local community by participating in local cultural and artistic activities as well as engaging in volunteer activities and cross-generational exchanges.
Through this website, we want to introduce to you some of the educational activities at our school which develops human potential and opens up the future for our students. As a preparatory school that focuses on English and a school trusted by the local community, we hope you will understand and support our mission.
